Catherine completed a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship in 2007-08 studying shark-human interactions, eco-tourism and ongoing conservation efforts in a number of countries including the Bahamas, South Africa, Mozambique and Australia.  She is interested in environmental decision making, conservation policy, marine protected areas and national parks, and the effect of human development on marine and terrestrial eco-systems.  She will be working with Dr. Kenny Broad.
