Dr. Naresh Kumar is a faculty affiliated member of the Abess Center, Associate Professor (rank pending UM Board of Trustees’ approval) of Environmental Health in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, and Adjunct Faculty at Brown University and the University of Iowa. He specializes in geospatial methodologies and technologies for quantify and characterize exposure to socio-physical environment, and pursuing an active and highly interdisciplinary research agenda. Dr. Kumar's research is supported by NIH, EPA, and NSF, which currently fund three complementary aspects of his research: health outcomes, exposure modeling, and methodology, respectively. This allows him to investigate the linkages between health and environment comprehensively in both developing and developed countries. Dr. Kumar has published widely in environmental health journals, including Atmospheric Environment, Environment Science and Technology, and Social Science and Medicine.
